As you are aware, there is a surge in Covid 19 cases. Now, more than ever, we all need to take responsibility for our actions, and we need to support each other in doing the right thing so that we can keep the spread of Covid-19 under control whilst keeping the hospital active and safe.
Everyone at SSWCH is asked to commit to the following Pledge:
- I will play my part in keeping the Hospital safe. That means that I will follow the guidance that is in place and make sure that I keep myself up to date with relevant national, local and SSWCH guidance.
- I will support others in keeping the Hospital safe. I will respectfully challenge those who I think may not be following the rules that are in place through engagement, encouragement, and explanation.
I will highlight where I see things that cause me concern, no matter how big or small. From empty hand sanitiser stations or groups gathering without wearing face mask and appropriate social distancing or sick colleague, I will bring attention to these in the right way. (For example by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with my concerns)
If I am challenged about my own behaviour, I will respond calmly and with respect. I will listen to concerns, acknowledging where I am wrong, and explaining when my behaviour has been misunderstood.
If I have Covid 19 or Malaria symptoms, I will inform the HR department, stay at home, self-isolate, until I have a clear test from a certified center or if I have the virus, I will inform HR, stay home, self-isolate for 14 days or longer if I remain unwell.
I am committed to keeping the Hospital safe and will act responsibly in the wider community.
Anyone not meeting the requirements will be asked to leave the Hospital, or in the most serious cases disciplinary action may be taken which includes immediate termination.
This will be an extraordinary year, with your support, it can be extraordinary for the right reasons.
