Cervical cancer

The cervix is the lower, narrow part of the uterus (womb). Cervical cancer occurs when the cells of the cervix start to grow abnormally and in advanced stages, spread to the rest of the reproductive system and other parts of the body.
Cervical cancer is strongly linked to infection with Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) which is sexually transmitted.
